Siena is still doing very well. She had gone 3 consecutive days with almost a 1 oz gain each day. However, she's slowed the last couple days and had only a 3 gram gain yesterday. She weighs about 1215 grams and they need her to be at least 1500 before they can put her in an open air crib. If she can maintain her temperature and gain weight for 48 hours, then she'll come home.
The doctors actually believe that she could maintain her temperature in an open air now, but want to be conservative and avoid slowing down her pace of growth. With that being said, Siena is kept naked throughout the day b/c they think she is getting too warm in the isolette and burning off her calories.
We will be giving Siena a bath for the first time tonight. Let me clarify that she has had baths already, but we haven't been present so it is our first time giving her a bath.
